new short story in progress
7/17/2007 1:31:21 AM
a long time coming -- new short fiction in works.

For the first time in weeks to a few months I am finally sitting down and working on a new short story.  This story I am doing so far is about 600 words and it won't be a flash fiction,  in fact I am going for a mid-range short story.   For those who read the blog on AuthorsDen,  it's been a long time since I did a blog on here -- so damned busy editing an anthology, promoting issue five of the magazine, and working on a non-fiction book.  It will go into details that will deal with the conflict of a mental illness and a religous faith.
It will take the reader into the lungs of hell so to speak and looking to shop it around to a few small press magazines or anthologies that will take obscure stories.   I will say this much,   I am returning to a more obscure approach to writing horror.  Trying to keep from using a lot of vulgarity much as I did when I wrote SPECTRAL EXILE or Misguidance.    It is a change from writing a dark autobiography,  but this is going to be taking a level that I never thought I would return to again.   Since getting in touch with another who I went to school with the flow for this kind of story came back like it was second nature.
I will try to keep this damn blog short because I don't want to take any of the writing energy away from the story or the book.   It will give me something to do while waiting for the lead author's submission and one of the other returning author's submissions.   If you want something to read in the mean time from me, grab a copy of House of Spiders 3.  Marjanvoic and I busted our asses on that novella.   The new stories been going around in the bulletins on Myspace too,  but the exclusives are The Pattern Of Diagnosis in print -- I will keep this one a print exclusive story too.    The new story I am writing will share a dark kinship with The Pattern Of Diagnosis.
But shit,  it's been a year since I actually blogged to AuthorsDen and when I blog on Amazon.com -- I got dipshits giving me shit without end or harassing my publishers just because they did publish me.
