Land of milk and honey
10/14/2009 4:44:29 AM

Because God promised Abraham’s descendants the land between the “river of Egypt unto the great river the river Euphrates” Isaac, the son of Abraham and Sarah, became the first Jew. Isaac’s son Jacob also known as Israel (God’s commander) had twelve sons and they became the Israelites. These original Jews settled in Egypt and grew into a formidable nation of their own before crossing into the land of Canaan between the “river of Egypt and the great river the river Euphrates”.

About this same time along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea between the Egypt and Euphrates rivers in the land of ancient Canaan dwelt the “Philistines”. The word Palestine is derived from the name Philistines and refers to these coastal dwellers. Hence, the modern battle between the Israelis and the Palestinians is not so contemporary after all. (David and Goliath)

What does all this mean? Simply stated the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians is nothing new, in fact it dates back over three thousand years. So whom does the land belong too? If you hold fast to the Judeo-Christian faith the answer is easy.
It is the Jews from the “river of Egypt unto the great river the river Euphrates”. If you do not adhere to the Judeo-Christian faith the water muddies. Today the search for common ground is underway with very little progress being made. This ancient conflict in a land no larger than New Jersey has placed the rest of the world in serious jeopardy. Read “Day of Vindication” to see the possible outcome.
