Loose Lips Sink (Royal Caribbean) Ships

In the wake of recent developments with RCCL (Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines) cutting its ties with YTB Travel due to outside pressures from a handful of traditional travel agents, the following third party article makes perfect sense as to Royal Caribbean having made an UNwise move. In the wake of recent developments with RCCL (Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines) cutting its ties with YTB Travel due to outside pressures from a handful of traditional travel agents, the following third party article makes perfect sense as to Royal Caribbean having made an UNwise move.
Read the last few pages of Chapter 8 in the book "Deregulation and the Future of Intercity Passenger Travel" by John Robert and Clinton V. Oster. If you don't have time to absorb the entire article, check out page 136 of Chapter 8 in the pdf file.
Bottom line is this: YTB is a fully recognized publicly traded travel agency. Period!
The current spat is nothing more than jealous hissy fit against a company who is really making a difference in families' lives. YTB is TWO companies...one travel. One marketing. No mandates to do both. People have a choice...like we USED to have in America. The second company--the OPTIONAL marketing company is called YourTravelBiz.com or YTB (You're The Boss). If you think of how America has always tried to give more to the "have's" and less to the "have nots", emotions can sometimes cloud logic.
Does MacDonald's pay you for eating there month after month, year in year out?
How about a sale on shoes that someone else went out and bought because they looked "fly" on your feet? Nada, zilch, uhuh...no dinero for advertising. How about a good movie you saw? Did people get a check for promoting word of mouth the Transformers movie.....(don't hold your breath!)
Logic is this: Why did Travelocity come to YTB in August of 2006 requesting to partner with us? Why did Air Tran do a complete "180" and return to YTB after doing something a few years back very similar to Royal Caribbean? It's because of logic. The INTERNET.
If a scant 600 or so travel agents, along with Magic Johnson Travel who approached Royal Caribbean to be a sponsor for his travel company, which connects with what they call "an urban" i.e. "black" audience is upset that so many families of color are making the American dream come true with YTB Travel and Cruises....maybe they should do a little test....
What do most people in this MODERN DAY prefer?
Foot powered sewing machine, or Walmart?
Skillet popcorn, or Microwave Popcorn?
Postal Service (look at how stamps increased) or FREE email?
Driving miles to your bank, or ONLINE banking?
Cooking meals from scratch, or Dinner Out?
Aging gracefully, or Hair Weave?
RCA Victrola or MP3?
Viewmaster, or DVD?
Model T, or Escalade?
Book of matches, or Blow Torch
Weenie Roast, or Carnival Cruise Buffet?
Typewriter, or HIGH SPEED INTERNET?
Slew-foot Mule, or Thorobred race horse?
First on the boat, or last on the shore?
The internet changes how we shop, how we communicate, how we work, how we play, how we send flowers, how we order tickets, how we book golf, how we purchase automobiles, how we renew and purchase passports, how we book our hotels, how we purchase our wish lift gifts, how we do business as a REAL business. And with YTB, we are able to do ALL of those things...not to mention PROVIDE for OUR FAMILIES.
Royal Caribbean, YOU were the ONLY company who buckled under pressure. Royal Caribbean, you are the one who lies to travel agents thinking that the only thing important in life is the almighty dollar, not the value of life and how we as American have the right to take care of our families and communities. YTB is concerned about family and people. YTB has traditional brick and mortar travel agencies who are part of it's program. YTB cares about Veterans...and since Carnival Cruiselines is number 1 in the world, connected with what is about to become--thanks to your whining, the NUMBER ONE travel agency in the Number ONE industry bigger than oil in the world...You just allowed all of us who have been helped by YTB when jobs didn't give a rip about our families to rise like a shining star.
So basically, when you did what you did, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, thru what will be 1 million REFERRING PROFESSIONAL TRAVEL AGENTS in YTB, is poke a hole in your boat... Royal Caribbean, you just sunk your OWN battleship.

Therein lies the truth of Your Travel Biz and YTB Travel & Cruises International. God bless all the families who touch lives in a wonderful way with YTB's family...working to make a difference in America. So get it right, travel people who fear change....YTB is not a card mill...it's a way to keep people from losing their homes, to keep them from dropping out of school; to keep their kids out of prison because someone was a stay at home mom who knew what was going on with her kids, it's a way to solidify relationships because strain of finance no longer is a factor in breaking up a marriage or causing women to feel they can't beat the glass ceiling! (www.ladiesofteamvision.com)...and most of us are black people (good Lord hope that doesn't have anything to do with it? Hmmm, 10,000 American Millionaires in the next 10 years because of YTB, and the fastest growing team is based in Altanta GA and spreading like crazy all over America (most of them black people)? Not in the land of equality! We're ALL treated the same regardless of skin color,.been that way for decades! (cough cough)....
(P.S. Why didn't someone holler at the airlines who TOOK away the travel agent commissions. YTB GETS AIRLINE COMMISSIONS FOR THEIR REFERRING TRAVEL AGENTS!!! And there is NOTHING like a strong family. America was built on sharing with family....not strangers taking all of our dollars for themselves.
