Gas at $1 per gallon--Yep! 7/1/2008 10:12:46 AM Xpenser.com is a free service to help determine business related expenses. Always check with your tax professional or accountant with any tax questions regardless of what is on the internet. Gasoline at $1.00/Gallon?
Right now more than ever the price is gas is at the forefront of everyone’s mind. Right now this is what everyone is talking about and what is coming up in more conversations than anything else. BUT…did you know that home based business owners, at the end of the day who operate as the IRS mandates, be only spending about $1 per gallon?
www.Xpenser.com is a free service to help determine business related expenses. Always check with your tax professional or accountant with any tax questions regardless of what is on the internet.
Check out this $1 per gallon formula – (working with round numbers) based on BillHoffmann.com information.
At $4.00 Per Gallon
And 20 Miles Per Gallon
As of July 1, 2008 an increase from $0.52 cents to $0.58 Cents Per Mile IRS Deduction
30% is the Average American Tax Bracket
Okay Mathematicians! Here’s the basic calculation based on Hoffmann’s website--
At 20 miles per gallon vehicle at $4 per gallon cost .20 cents per mile to drive.
At $0.58 cents per mile IRS deduction x 30% tax bracket is $0.15 cents in real money that business owners keep in their own pockets at the end of the year. When deducting $0.15 cents from $0.20 cents, the balance is $0.05 cents per mile or $1 per gallon.
For people who are concerned about gasoline prices, food, medical costs, etc. can this be these real cash savings for a family at the end of the tax year?

Put a sign on your vehicle advertising your business. DO NOT put business cards on windshields of parked cars (or moving ones either). That constitutes human spamming and is no different than the way some folks from a well known cosmetic company used to do jumping out from behind a clothing rack to say “you have gorgeous skintone!” Approach people one on one as a friend in a brief “yadda yadda” conversation. Don’t work your life around your business. Work your home business AROUND YOUR LIFE! More fun and less stress and more respectful that way,.
See if there is a legitimate need for them to use your business. In my case with YTB, I just ask people if they have any objection to saving money on their travel. I have yet to get a nasty look, in fact some look as if they want to kiss me and take me home with news like that.
For people who are not great talkers, every decent home business systems should have some form of non-invasive customer-friendly tools. For me, the SUCCESS FROM HOME magazine program is PERFECT for this regarding YTB travel. Our company is doing extremely well admidst unfounded criticism (just like Bill Gates’ battles when he was building MicroSoft—after all the man is a college dropout (hint hint).
But what’s nice about using tools to talk to people is that if the tool works, it’s great 3rd party professional validation, and encourages people to get back with the person who gave them the information.
Help people with the gasoline pressure by telling them about YTB, or any excellent home business because we all were blessed with specific talents. And for me and my house, travel is a no brainer that everyone loves to do, and travel involved mileage everywhere we go.
We literally write off every move we make with YTB. And who knows, we might help a few folks become a bit more relaxed because they got away from life’s pressures in pursuit of their happiness. Travel and entertainment is a universal product that pertains to everyone.
Testimonial: For myself, I thought of this since my family (husband and two sons) have our own home based travel businesses through YTB Travel and Cruises. So for example sake, this makes sense for us to get our gasoline for $1 per gallon.
Take this example: We’re all busy, and we all have 24 hrs each day. Some just let live control their time instead of the other way around—that’s my confession anyway.
But everybody spends time on the phone or the Bluetooth or the internet. So in the midst of an everyday event like a phone call we encourage our business partners in YTB to ask “Where’s the last place you traveled? Check out my site.”
Before, during or even after you’ve driven somewhere (that was business related) call yourself and leave a voice message such “Soccer game handed out 3 business cards – 14 miles” and hang up.
Convert your “gotta go anyway” miles into business miles.
God bless! www.goteamspectrum.com
