Well, now that the convo's are over. . . 9/3/2004 12:37:34 AM It's been a while since I've written a blog. Poetry and other stuff seems to crowd out my blogging. But please be warned that since this is my opinion, that it should be respected as such. I think that God uses nature to make a point in Florida, and perhaps somebody needs to pay attention with the initials JB (and I ain't talkin' 'bout James Brown).
To everyone I care about, and includes Americans as well as people who have been forgotten by America who fought for America:
After listening to both conventions openly (and I mean that) and seeing and reading the evidence not just in newspapers, but from many news sources, this is what decided my vote after witnessing the tremendous waste of money put out on the RNC:
President G.W. Bush is a God-fearing (so he feels) family oriented man. I'm an admirer of his mother and father because of they way they conduct the words of their mouths. Their concepts on the ideal family are exemplary. But that's all it is, an ideal that many people will never be able to reach when families are NOT the priority anymore in this country. He's trying to win an election and will do whatever political plastic surgery he feels he needs to for America to accept him as the leader representing all people. He only accepts those in his income bracket, or people whom he can persuade with his charm. And he's good at it. That's not my issue.
I did not hear President GW Bush say one thing about underpriviledged American children, born into single families who need health insurance. He served stateside in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War era, while five student and marriage deferments kept Cheney out of military service. Kerry, who has served in the Senate for the past two decades, has made his own Vietnam combat service in the Navy a centerpiece of his campaign.
"Misleading our nation into war in Iraq makes you unfit to lead this country," Kerry added. "Doing nothing while this nation loses millions of jobs makes you unfit to lead this country. Letting 45 million Americans go without health care makes you unfit to lead this country. Letting the Saudi Royal Family control our energy costs makes you unfit to lead this country," Kerry told several thousand supporters.
So based on the facts, I thought you would find the following URL interesting.

And if it's a tough choice, think of my brother in law who is dying because of Viet Nam, and had to fight after he came home to get decent health care, AFTER he fought in the Special Forces. Blame Agent Orange that took away both of his lungs. He loves family, he loves freedom, but he does not love George W. Bush.
James is a wonderful brother-in-law. He was blessed to get one good lung, but his life is not the same. He understands the war that Kerry was in, because he understands it firsthand.
My brother in law James is on oxygen 24/7. This man has done more thankless jobs to volunteer for his community, love his God, in fact you'd think he was a Republican because of his conservative beliefs. He was even denied one of the highest civilian awards in the country because of jealousy on his job. (Long story, but God moved and he got his Pro Patria award, even when there was a scheme to keep it from his knowledge.)
I'm proud of him, but not for the reason that he had to fight on false pretenses from a government that wasn't straight with the people. President George "walk" Bush who was appointed, not elected, exemplifies the lies of Viet Nam in my opinion. If you feel differently, then don't argue with me, just vote, and do it because you care about people, not oil. We are not bullies, and if Bush read his Bible, he'd figure out he is not the solution, and the world is going to be worse before Christ returns.
This war is one based on a religion that George Bush does not believe in. . . yet he pretends to be tolerant by opening the RNC with a prayer from a Muslim gentlemen, and ending the convention with a Catholic Cardinal. God is not the author of confusion, Mr. President. I just want to know one thing. . . why didn't any of those who offered a prayer mention the name of your Jesus?
