Random Things About Me
7/11/2012 6:14:13 AM

•I grew up at a riding school, Sweetbrier, taught riding there for many years. My remarkable journey is chronicled in Tails of Sweetbrier.
•I love watching figure skating, baseball (especially Yankees and Indians), as well as equestrian events.
•My dad was a watchmaker and Jeweler, as well as a riding master. He started fixing watches and clocks for his neighbors at about ten years old!
•I studied voice for many years and performed at recitals.
•My sisters were riding in horse shows at 5 and 3 years old!
•Our family dog, Elliott, is featured in two of my books, Charlene the Star and Charlene the Star and Hattie’s Heroes. He’s on the covers!
•My first pony was named Little Man and he always tricked me by misbehaving. I tried to bribe him with sugar cubes, but it didn’t help.
•The house where we grew up is very unique. It took 3 years to build. It’s 119 years old and was featured on the Centennial town calendar. (1993)
•Our farm, Sweetbrier, was originally owned by an eccentric man who held
elaborate dinner parties. He wore expensive silk suits but no shoes!
•When the Sweetbrier house was built, people came from all over to see the beautiful roses, named Sweetbrier Roses.
•I cried on the first day of school because I thought that the bus would take me to school but I’d never come home again!
