That special season has come again. Excitement is in the air, good will toward men silently touches our consciousness. It is the time we want to give, to make others happy, to rejoice with family and friends. It happens every year and we feel it over the world, why? because, “unto us a child is born, and a Son is given and the government shall be upon His shoulders.” It is sad to have to say that the pathetic shoulders upon whom the governments of this world rest today are so inadequate to govern with wisdom, concern, and fairness to the people. Jesus is the benchmark for governing and one day he will rule this world in righteousness. But in the meantime we are stuck with the rulers of this world whose responsibility to govern should be in the spirit of Christ and not in the spirit of politics as usual.
