Fighting CPS
5/12/2013 5:11:45 PM
The purpose of this blog is to provide updates on some of the cases I reported in my book (Fighting CPS: Guilty Until Proven Innocent of Child Protective Services Charges ISBN 9-780-9800061-6-2) that had not been resolved when the book went to press, and to report other cases where CPS is not working up to par. I’d also like to hear about cases in which Child Protective Services did the right thing so those cases can serve as examples of what should be done. Occasionally, I will report helpful tips and web sites with advice on fighting CPS. To comment on this blog, or to tell your story, email Deborah Frontiera at frontiera.fightingcps.deborah.gmail.com
The next post will be on May 27, 2013.

Thinking about Mothers and Mother’s Day
On Mother’s Day, 2013, lots of children did something special for their mothers. Lots of husbands did, too. And people of all ages, whose mothers are still living, took their mother’s and grandmothers to dinner, or if not close enough in distance, called, sent flowers, cards, whatever, to their mothers and grandmothers. My children, grandchildren and I spent time together, too. I have a lot to be grateful for as a mother: my four daughters are all happy, healthy, productive citizens of this country; my grandchildren are happy and healthy, too, and they are with their parents. We had a happy Mother’s Day.
My thoughts and prayers go out instead to all the mothers who are NOT with their children because CPS has taken their children away from them. I acknowledge that there may be some women who probably should not have their children with them. Some women, for whatever reasons, were not the best at “mothering” and may have done more damage than good to their offspring. But even they are probably feeling “down” today. And maybe “down” is the understatement of the year for some of them.
I know how my daughter felt on Mother’s Day of 2007 and 2008 during our battle with CPS. She kept a brave face, but she was dying inside when she had to end Mother’s Day by leaving her child in someone else’s care after an insufficient visit. I’ve heard from other innocent mothers about how they die a little inside as each day passes and they do not know where their children are, when they will be able to see them again, or IF they will ever see them again. Mother’s Day must be a terrible day for them. Simply thinking about what it might be like brings a huge lump into my throat.
Whether you are woman or a man, a mother or not, please keep these women in your prayers, that their pain may be lessened, their grief comforted. Pray that they will be reunited with their children.
