Friday Morning Follies

Never wake up in a creative mood with a treeful of birds going off outside your window!
It’s Friday morning a cheerful day
The chirpy birds won’t go away
I wanted to sleep but they’re so loud
It’s like a partying avian crowd
The sun it rises in outer space
And somehow blasts into my face
All of this abuse I’m just takin’
While I simply try to waken.
Coffee hot in cups of blue
One won’t cut it, best have two
The brain is slow and I can’t think
I’d better grab my mug and drink
I’ll throw a rock at birds oiutsde
They all will squawk and fly and hide
I’ll get a peace at last
Until the next loud birdie blast.
Another day of sleepy head
Oh why can’t I just stay in bed
Because before the day is through
Another bill is overdue
I’d love to stay at home and play
But those darn bills won’t go away
I guess it’s how the story goes
For everyone with bills they owes
So here I sit in sleeping clothesy
Posting little pits of prosey
Doggerel that has some fleas
About some birdies in the trees
I try to wake and get in gear
For leaving-time will soon be near
I cannot let mybrain just tank
Since I am going to the bank!
