Hail storm
3/28/2012 5:01:08 PM
Today started as a beautiful sunny day. I had to do some internet stuff with the books and finally was ready to hit the road and cycle some. I look to the sky and there was one big black spot, other than that clear sailing. As I cycled through the park I began to feel some very huge drops of rain. One drop, covered half my face. I laughed a little at the size and thought, well here comes an adventure. I turned the corner and on a straight hit of road I saw, not big plops of rain, but big white balls falling out of the sky. The size of golf balls. Holy moly! I have my helmet on and tuck and peddled harder. The hail began to pummel my back and legs. I turned to attempt to find shelter under a tree near a stone wall. Not much protection there. I finally sat on the wall and pulled my bike up around me to shield me from the hail. Well, the sounds as it 'pinged and ponged and tinged' was a sound I wouldn't forget. The rain became torrential and the hail slowed some. Finally able to ride as the hail stopped, I made it back to my car. As soon as I got off of my bike the sun came out. And the sun was out the rest of the day. I had picked the one hour, for the day to have a storm, and I was pedaling like a fool.

A good analogy of this could be those moments that you walk into where all hell breaks lose and you feel like it is the end of time. But it is ok, the sun is still there, just a test of wits and stamina. Tally ho!
