Work-in-progress: Act III, THE LAST SUPPER

As I wrote July 18, I have begun this stage of writing my next play "with the 3rd act ... because I have to get the dialogue and drama of the ending perfected, so I can work with laying the groundwork."
This "stage" of writing is preparing the piece for its first work-in-progress reading by an actors group. In my case, I submit my work to an actors group at the Symposia Bookstore in Hoboken, NJ. You can look them up on the web at:

Again, this is one the pure joys of living in the New York City metropolitan area, the seemingly endless supply of venues for artistic work. I can feel the suction of the search for new material. They spit out the unusable with equal force. Gawd, it is exhilerating!
But back to the writing itself ... I completed an initial draft of Act III's dialogue thread yesterday. The first thing I then did was hand a copy to a member of my core group of critics.
At this point it goes to whoever is handy in the group. Proximity is the only selection process, because the group has already been carefully selected and sorted with an eye toward diversity in point of view. For instance, in this case the person is a Senior in high school who has taken Advanced Placement (AP) English.
I won't wait for the response. Today I will continue filling in Act III, and move on to Act II, and then finally Act I. The story-line of the play is already set, and Acts I & II are in rough draft form ... which for me is a set of handwritten notes compiled in different places at different times ... as the muse moved. (My definition for "muse": the energy of musing.)
