Controversy
4/10/2006 7:28:16 AM
We the People ... why would anyone consider just the title controversial?
A while back someone made a comment to me about the title of the book. It still burns me, so I'm blogging it to get rid of the cobwebs in that brain of mine.

Yes, it refers to the USA. Yes, it refers to the constitution. It also is about Native Americans because they refered to themselves as the People.

NO, I do not dis my country in the book. Nor, do I ever dis my country in any way, shape, or form. I love my country. I was a patriot before patriotic was cool. I am an American and I am proud to be one.

Obviously, the person who made the comment had not read the book, it wasn't even out yet! We the People is about growing as a person and as a nation. It is a Native American historical fiction novel. It is about tragedy, fear, ignorance and growth.

You want to call my book controversial -- fine. But, read it first and then if you still feel it is controversial and insulting to the American people. Blast me all you want.
