When you're tired, write about the weather and the grandchildren
2/9/2008 5:15:43 PM
Two unpredictables....kids and weather

Thunder just shook the house unexpectedly.  I haven't listened to the weather forecast since early this morning.  The wind advisory was unecessary; the snow came, but most disappeared when the sun came out.  Now there's more thunder, with lightning.  Amy, Steve and Bradley are on their way home.  Too bad they will have to drive in bad weather.
Bradley was here from Wednesday afternoon till today, Saturday evening, while Amy and Steve drove down to Lynchburg, VA, with Alexandra to experience Liberty U.  Alexandra is a finalist in the National Merit
Scholarship Program, so would actually have her full tuition, plus room and board paid if she decides to attend there.  What a girl!  She's tiny, and rarely looks her age.  She was a preemie, weighing in at 4 lbs, 14 oz.  Always a smart and pretty girl.  Pappy Bill used to call her Boopie.

Bradley is smart, too, but some things aren't clicking quite right for him in school.  It could be dyslexia, I suppose.  The Christian school he attends has a program to help him, with specialized training for his needs.
He had to endure shopping and a blood test appt. with me Thursday, but we got in a lot of playtime, too.  I actually made him special breakfasts every day!  (special means something other than cereal, which I eat almost every single day)  Bradley said I should have a restaurant called "Grandma's Breakfasts."

Why am I writing, with little to say?  Just because I haven't written for a while, and thought it was time.   And you know how grandmas like to brag about the grandchildren.  Maybe I'll start writing about each of them, one at a time.  I find them fascinating, with all their different personalities, likes and dislikes.  Yes, I think that's what I'll do.  And since Allie and Bradley shared this entry, I'll have to do another one on the two of them.

Time to read some poems now, or maybe find one to post on my den.
