Gifts For Soldiers

for gifts to the soldiers and their families
My family and I have decided to take the money we are going to spend on each other and use it for gifts to the soldiers and their families fighting in Iraq...Each of us use our own method, but as an example we say "This gift comes to you from (name)"...
put name of family member you had intended it for
We also are seeking names of families in our community who have servicemen away at this time. We are chipping in to deliver food baskets toys etc leaving it on their doorsteps.
We have some who are visiting local hospitals where servicemen may be or one of their family.
This is just a few of the ways we are sharing gifts this year. I thought I'd tell you in case you wanted to do something similar.
Below are a few links on the internet. Also a name of a soldier there now ,who will be there til October of 2005. If you send him anything it is shared with several others in his group. Use the address exactly as it is shown.

Do not send home cooked meals! Packages could take over a month to get there.
REALLY good idea:
Put a self-addressed postcard into each package/letter you send (no stamp needed). Put a sticky note on it asking for the person getting your package/letter to write you a short note or simply sign the card and drop it in the mail so you know somebody got it. Will that insure you know? Nope, but it might help.
We are also including things for the Iraqi children and families...
