Green Living, Sacred Life launch Sat. 2nd July Nuneaton, UK 6/27/2011 8:23:55 AM The best book I've ever been involved in is about to spread its wings and take to the skies. Writing a book is always a long, slow process, but that is nothing compared to the time it can take to become a paper and ink reality.
In the case of this book, there have been so many steps I feel like I've run a marathon. From that first little pamphlet that sold so fast it made my head spin, through the time I spent expanding and improving it into a proper book and on to the time when, beginning to feel a little defeated I invited Tye Jamie Coxston to help me finish it, I wondered if we'd ever put in that last word, but we did. Tye brought so much more to the book than I expected and so it expanded a little more. Next came the endless proof reading and editing. Then Capall Bann Publishing worked their magic on it and, sent it off to the printers. Finally it's here in all its paperback beauty and I don't mind telling you I'm very, very proud of the result.
The aim of the book is to show the reader how to have fun, be green and live within the sacred without compromising their own spiritual beliefs. We've deliberately made this a 'dip in' book - you can open it at almost any page and start reading. Naturally there is an order to the whole thing, but that's to make everything easy to find, not to force the reader to start at page one and read on to the end. We have stories, legends, recipes and how-to sections as well as information on all kinds of things we think you'll want to know.
The book pays homage to the Elements used by the Ancient Greeks, plus one more that would make sense to people from cooler climes. Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Ice each have their own section and each is complete of itself, in fact I did consider writing five books, but was persuaded by the editor, Jon Day to keep everything inside one cover.
