Change is Coming...

Thoughts on accepting change with joy and anticipation.
There is a definite chill in the air today and I am loving the change, aren't you? There is something about the crisp coolness on the outside that makes me feel warm inside. I can't explain the reason except that perhaps it's the change that makes the difference.
I absolutely love changes in life. I can embrace the newness with a healthy balance of fear and excitement--fear of the unknown and excitement of what is yet to come-- that something better that I've not yet experienced. Are you with me so far? Good!
Change is good because if we don't allow change into our lives, then we won't grow. It's that simple. For example, my pastor taught us about a very real change just this morning. One that we are not looking forward to and yet, we will one day have to face with the usual amount of dread and anxiety. This change that I'm referring to is death.
On the other hand or the other side of this reality and since death is inevitable and completely unescapable, we will face God, judgement and then eternal life with the Father. That is of course, as long as we are saved. This certainty, in itself, is something to look forward to.
And, so it is with any change in life. There will always be an element of unsurety or fear and yet another level of anticipation that borders sheer excitement. My definition of change is simply the ability to let go of what is familiar to us and to embrace the unknown with joy and anticipation. Think about that...
The Apostle Paul said:
"I have fought a good fight. I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me--the crown of righteousness that the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that great day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his glorious return.. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
I think Jesus could return any day now and so does my pastor! Paul was certain of the glorious future that awaited him on the other side and we can be sure too. After all, everyday we do walk by faith and not by sight.
Just something to think about.
