things i could be better at: keeping to a schedule: time to work, time to write, time to sew what is reaped ... difficult when sig. other and i do not share same days off. to easy to "play" on all his days off, then forever playing catch-up. my once regimented lifestyle has now become "anything can happen day."

something i should stop doing, but am bloody well too good at: insulating and isolating myself from others, letting email die in the "in" bin, letting the phone register book become out-of-date, avoiding most family and "other" gatherings like the plague.

dumb things people say when they call the house: "were you sleeping?" because i work at home, everyone assumes that means i'm sleeping. however, this happens less and less as i become better at the above (insulating and isolating) ... oops, i said i should stop that. however, old coccooning habits die hard.

something i'm doing today out of kindness, even though i'm getting paid for it: popping online to work for the afternoon, even though it's my day off and there are a million things i could get done, but patient care remains in the balance and the hospital i'm working for is counting on all our help.

something i'm probably avoiding by doing the above: defrosting the freezer and a multitude of other mundane chores.

how the shredded potato-backed salmon turned out: ask me tomorrow. felt like doo-doo last night and did not cook or eat. will try tonight. salmon is brain food.

things that are missing: inches off my loved one's hair. gives me a stomachache whenever it's time for a trim.

welcome changes in pace: long pants and a sweatshirt. it's rainy today, cooled things off a bit.
