"i advised the patient not to pound her fist into any further walls." i wondered, after transcribing this, if the same goes for heads beating against walls. i suppose so. it's just been a long week (work-wise), and i dunno it seems like there are worst things you can do beside pounding your fist into a wall. it beats kicking the cat.

"i advised the patient to find someone to sleep with her tonight." i transcribed this a few months back. it was the advice given to a woman who, during an altercation at the local pub, fell down and bashed her head. after they CT scanned her and did the neuro checks, the doctor deemed it a closed head injury and felt she could go home to manage this, but he advised that she could not be alone for the night and so ... "i advised the patient to find someone to sleep with her tonight." those were his exact words! and so i pictured this patient going directly back to the local pub to make good on these instructions.

snow advisory: yippy. let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. i ran all the errands, did all the laundry, bought tickets for the theata' tomorrow night (ali's surprise), bought some second-hand books (rare finds milton minor poems, tennyson's the princess, and Longfellow's hiawatha ...beyond old, all printed before the 1900s) mailed some letters, etc. etc. we can be ever-so-buried now, and that would be just fine with me.

when it rains it pours: however, i left the house for just slightly over an hour to do all of this, and while i was gone all heck and hell high water broke loose at work, and we have been once again "slammed" with "incoming." it's going to be a long day and night.
