Government Controls
3/23/2009 7:45:05 AM
Is goverment control always a bad thing?

Lately there's been an underlying fear from many across this nation about the posibility of the government taking over the failed mis-managed banking industry. It's like whoa, the government will restrict free enterprise. Not so fast...There are some entities that the United States government contols and manages very well. Think about it.
Examples:
The FAA...When we fly on an airplane there are goverment controlers watching over your flight. They are paid by the government and managed by its agency. Remember when these same controlers got thousands of aircraft safely on the ground soon after 911 struck...Also on the ground they perform oversight on aircraft inspections and fine those not complying to saftey rules. Case in point...recently Southwest Airlines was fined seven million dollars.

A few more government agencies that are doing okay:
The U.S Postal Service does a pretty good job getting mail door to door for a reasonable price.
The Forestry Service.
US Border Patrol.
Federal Communication Commission
U.S Coast Guard (saves lives at sea)
FBI
CIA Had something to do with preventing terrorist activity.
NSA
And many other agencies doing an efficient and well managed job for this country.
Now,why so much fear on government takeover of the failed banks? Could govrnment intervention do any worse than the management responsible for a system that's run amuck and impacted the lives of many?
