What's Wrong With This Picture? 1/6/2012 6:11:25 AM Last weekend, on January 2, 2012, I took a picture while taking a stroll through the forest in New Brunswick, Canada....There were green ferns growing, new shoots of lichen and mosses blooming, and an eerie feeling the scenery was all wrong! We are the true north! Or are we? Change is afoot...... What’s wrong with this picture?
“Why nothing”, you say!
It’s a beautiful forest
On a bright sunny day!
Lichen and mosses
In soft shades of green
A carpet of ferns
With a moist dewy sheen!
Dry leaves all entangled
On a dense forest floor,
Where one must tread warily
Over branches and more!
Seems like a perfectly natural sight
But there’s something you should know!
This picture was taken in wintertime
The scene should be white with snow!
Who ever heard of such a thing?
Flora and fauna in January…
This might be forewarning of what’s to come
So perhaps we’d better be wary!
