Stop the World 4/29/2009 9:28:37 AM Stop the world I want to get off. Stop the world I want to get off.
Yesterday I mailed one of my books to a friend. I had lots of postage stamps that I wanted to use up so I weighed it, went to the PO website and put more than enough postage on it. I took it to the PO and there was a long line so I just dropped in one of the slots.
Today I find it in my home mailbox with this attached:
Important Customer Information
We regret that your mail was not collected or is being returned to you due to heightened security requirements. All MAIL THAT BEARS POSTAGE STAMPS and weighs more than 13 ounces MUST be taken by the customer to a retail service associate at a Post Office.
So I took it to the PO and they didn't even ask me the usual questions, simply hand canceled the stamps and sent it on its way.
GAAAH! Common Sense is dead. Dead.
Thank you for letting me vent. I fee better now.
