Who Says Poetry Is Dead?

"Poetry is dead!" was always a nonsensical statement but until now it was difficult to prove that assertion wrong.
Amazon's Kindle store, like the parent store, gives all items a sales rank. These rankings are updated hourly. This morning, my book, A SALUTE TO SPANISH POETRY, had a sales rank of 28,750. All five-figure numbers are good figures -- and the lower the number the better!
This number, of course, reflects sales of all books in the store. When divided among the various categories, these rankings make it possible to calculate the sales popularity of books in particular categories including, of course, Poetry Anthologies.
In this category A SALUTE TO SPANISH POETRY ranked 15th.
