The Rose and the Thorn

Sorrow and gladness are linked together.
A marvelous offer from a NY editor--an appearance on an author's panel in NYC for my artist collaborator and me-- arrived via email last week along with the news that my sister and my brother-in-law are each completing another round of chemo 1,260 miles away ... the rose and the thorn, eh?
Clumsily I try to unfold the petals of the rosebuds life sends me, only to find I don't always possess the wisdom to do so. I trust The Man Upstairs who sees my path clearer than I and knows the secret of unfolding rosebuds.
