I ended my last blog on a low note. I was saddened at the way my son had pretty much rained on my parade. He had stated that I might be disappointed to find that my good friend would not stand true to her words and actually buy 10 of my newly published books. My heart fell to my toes, because I wasn't ready to hear what could become reality. I wanted to hear, "That's great!" Well, in the end, it was great because she did in fact buy 10 books.
Ultimately I was ashamed of myself; at how easily I let myself be persuaded of the possible negative instead of listening to my own heart, my own energy.
For those of you who watch Oprah, you 're aware of the life lessons she's been doing for the last few weeks. I was spellbound when she did a lesson on taking responsibility for your energy. Are you going to brighten up a room when you walk in or are you going to be the wet blanket complete with a glum face?
We don't have to say anything or do anything to contribute to the energy of a group. It comes from within you. We can sense how the collective mood is. We can also check with ourselves and determine what our contribution is: positive or negative energy?
I didn't need to let my 'son's comment deflate me and he didn't have to be negative. Because much like yawning, when an individual yawns, you'll soon find other individuals yawning. Energy, it's contagious. Is your energy positive or negative? Something to thin about when you walk into a situation.
