How Active a Role Does God Play in Our World?
6/26/2012 9:52:07 AM
The universe was created by God 14 billion years ago, our earth 4.5 billion years ago, the first fossilized forms of bacteria 3.8 billion years ago, and modern humans known as Homo sapiens perhaps 50 to 100 thousand years ago. As far as we know, God did not appear during those 3.8 billion years since Evolution began. We might say that God was the God of Heaven during this entire period.

It wasn’t until the Creation of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden some 5,772 years ago that we see the first public appearance of God. It was at this time that God became the God of both Heaven and Earth. He remained in this capacity on the public stage for more than three thousand years until just before King David and King Solomon’s First Temple in Jerusalem honoring Him was destroyed by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. It was then that God returned to being God of Heaven and no longer occupied the public stage of our earthly world where he communicated directly with human beings. However, He has always been hither and there watching over our world and does come to random individuals.

God has always desired that there be a Covenant between Himself and humankind. He has exercised thousands of years of patience while man systematically destroyed that precious bond with Him. After the destruction of the First Temple, God therefore made the decision to leave man to his own desires and whims without His guidance. With his God-given free will, man was able to make his own decisions and of course we see the outcome of this in our screwed up world. In sports and spiritual terms, God was placing the ball in our court, as it was now up to us human beings to restore the Covenant between the Creator and us.

Although God has disappeared from the public stage, He has as we said above been hither and there, coming to bless individuals in a variety of ways. Horrible tragedies on a global scale have befallen man as wars are more the norm than peace. Yet God has always had a master fail-safe plan to ensure the survival of our planet and the next evolutionary form of humans. Those who want to enter this future afterlife need to do only one thing – lead a moral and spiritual life.

God is the master scientist who has created our world through scientific miracles. He created an imperfect world so that we would be able to appreciate the perfection of the second Garden of Eden to come in the Messianic Age. In this next time period, we will be given a new spirit and a new heart so that those that are fortunate to be accepted in this future shangri la will become spiritual human beings.

God will never allow our planet and all of its inhabitants to be destroyed.
