Ramadhan Days 8/4/2012 5:46:10 AM We are in the days and nights of Ramadhan here in the United Arab Emirates. Before the fast begins, we have an early breakfast (called suhour in Arabic) around 4:00 am. The fast begins with the call to prayer at 4:30 am so we all have our last drink of water. The fast itself is a challenge in this part of the world because of the heat. Temperatures routinely soar to 47 degrees Centigrade on average during the day and it can be humid as well if you live along the coast. The fast ends with the call to prayer at sunset, which in this part of the world (Dubai) is around 7:00 pm. We have completed two weeks of the fast and are at halfway point. Another two weeks to go.
