The Night of Power 8/14/2012 9:56:05 AM In the Islamic tradition, the 27th of Ramadhan, which is tonight, may be considered "The Night of Power". According to sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, the Night of Power could be any of the "odd" days in the final ten days of Ramadhan. As such, many Muslims make special prayers and read Quran for much of the night in the final days of the holy month. It is on the Night of Power that the initial verses of the Quran began to be revealed to the Prophet in a cave outside of Makka, called the Cave of Light. According to the Quran, the Night of Power is "better than a thousand months." Muslims revere this night for its special blessings. Blessings to all until the coming of the dawn.
