Poet Fights for World Peace
Tuesday, November 15, 2005  3:26:00 PM

by Pamela Faye

The acclaimed Indian poet, Nikhil Parekh, is relentless in his efforts for world peace. With hundreds of replies from Presidents, Prime Ministers, and World Organizations, Nikhil Parekh’s list of accolades grows with every strike of the sword, known as the Writer’s Pen.

Fighting for Anti Terrorism, World Peace, and several Social and Humanitarian Causes, the voice of the Indian poet rises as chanting mantra to billions who seek harmony and peace across the globe. Letters of accolade flow in from World Leaders, from Australia to New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, The Secretary General to the United Nations, Canada, France, America, and numerous countries including European Nations. All respond to the poet, Nikhil Parekh’s fight.

It is not only Anti Terrorism that Parekh rolls verse too but the terror nature unleashes through earthquakes and the recent tsunami victims of the heaving Indian Ocean. The poet’s voice rises from the heart, to carry on the immortality of love. The poverty of third world countries is not forgotten, it is the bittersweet world the poet gathers through eyes that see clearly.

When asked about his passion for writing pose, Nikhil Parekh reflects, “Even if I die a hungry death, still no regrets as I will never stop writing poetry and doing what I am destined for on this planet. I will fight till my last breath, and never shirk back.” It is this dedication and passion, which drives the poet onwards, seeking seclusion to roll the flow of words to chanting voice.

Nikhil Parekh is published around the globe. A lifetime of verse has been compiled through 53 published poetry books by the Indian poet, all are available through Café Press and Lulu Press, America. For such a young man this is quite an outstanding achievement throughout the poetry world.

Nikhil Parekh has won major International Poetry Awards, his poems being published through leading Magazines and Websites worldwide. The National Poetry Magazine of Canada proclaimed Parekh as ‘India’s Treasured Poet’. The Times of Tibet have published poems such as “Cursed Terrorism”, while NDTV India has published several stanza by the poet.

Poems on Humanitarian and Social Causes by Parekh have been published in the Commonwealth HIV-AIDS Newsletter – Poets Against War, US - British Council Sri Lanka – BBC UK – International Journal of Erotica – Voices in Wartime UK – Universal Journal - Association of Young Journalists and Writers US – LondonArt UK – Libanmall Middle East and Hopeways Israel.

“Cursed Terrorism” is forever on the lips of the prolific poet while he continues his fight for peace. Nikhil Parekh sends his message on a continuing global spiral, recently reaching out to The Guinness Book of World Records, as well as the Limca Book of Records India, for having received the most number of World Leader and World Organization replies. His love of poetry spans a lifetime; beginning as a child with an insatiable appetite for music played through lyrical verse.

While poets frequently speak from the voice of rhyme and reason, the Universal Journal Association of Young Journalists have published Nikhil Parekh’s “Pricelessly Equal”, recognizing the poet’s unique style in today’s world, and patronizing the lifetime collection of poetry online.

Nikhil Parekh recently received an invitation to attend the 2005 International IFLAC Peace Conference in California where the World Congress of Poets gathered. The Indian poet reflects, “I am just God’s meaninglessly helpless molecule who perhaps is the only one of my kind with this style of writing, in the Universe. I try to survive and make a full time living from poetry.”
