There is culture on the central coast if you know where to look for it.   On a typical weekend evening one can find local poets reciting their latest work to patrons of places like Sugar Magnolias in Lompoc.   During one of these “open mike” sessions where authors take turns reading their poetry, a scout looking for local talent discovered,  Andy Stankewich, Kelli Cochran, Maria Gothard, and Carolyn Red Bear.  They were asked if they wanted to participate in a project that highlighted the talent and creativity many people express in their everyday lives.   Subsequently they were invited to be in the audience of the Dr. Phil Show.  The four will be traveling to Los Angles on Tuesday November 4, 2003 for the taping of the show.
