I am extremely pleased to announce that my nonfiction animal memoir,
Curious Creatures-Wondrous Waifs, My Life with Animals,
Has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence in the 2004
Cat Writers’ Association (CWA) Communications Contest.
It has also been nominated as a finalist for a 2004 CWA Muse Medallion Award, their highest honor.
This award and nomination are extremely gratifying to me since one of my primary goals as a writer has always been to foster an increased appreciation of animals and Nature by both children and adults, and a renewed sense of compassion for the plight of our nonhuman neighbors in our modern world.
Hopefully, this award and nomination will spark additional interest in this book, and additional readership.
I will be donating half of all proceeds received from AD Bookstore sales of this book from now until the end of the year to The Assisi Animal Foundation, one of my favorite ‘No Kill’ animal shelters.
If you care about animals, or if you have a child who loves animals, and you would like to help a worthy cause, please check out my book.
It would make a great Christmas present for any animal lovers in your life (child or adult), and the abandoned animals being cared for by the Assisi Foundation would truly appreciate the donation being made possible by your purchase.
Thanks very much.
