| Just wanted to update those that are faithful friends and readers of my work on the progress on surgery to my right hand. Thank you all for your support, prayers, patience, and friendship! God Bless you! |
As most of you know I had surgery on my right hand the 12th of Oct. They went in a removed a diseased bone and replaced it with a section of tendon from my right arm and it is being held in place with pins. Did I say it was a very painful suregery? It was and still is!
I went back yesterday to first physical theraphy then to see one of my other specialist. He had actually referred me to the surgeon that worked on my hand. Last week when I saw my actual surgeon that worked on my hand he said it was looking better because some of the swelling hand left and the incision looked to be healing well with out infection. he offered me more pain medication that I turned down because I had had some difficulty with it. Now he is out of town for another week and the Lortab 10mg that I take 4 times a day all the time for other pain issues isn't strong enough to handle the pain in my hand. I have almost a week before he returns before I can get the one he offered, so I am gritting my teeth and bareing it. I'm not a happy camper!
Yesterday during physical theraphy I had great difficulty doing some of the theraphy and it brought me to tears. I actually had to stop. The nerves in my hand are what they termed "angry". I beg to differ, they are furious! I'm at their mercy with out decent pain control for another week almost!
While I was attempting to do PT on my hand, I found out that I had been instructed poorly on one exercise and have suffered badly for that mistake. I am under no circumstances suppose to move my thumb. This one exercise I am speaking of that I was instructed to do was shown to me wrong. Now I have one pin bent and one that has went 1/2 way through my thumb metacarpal bone and is trying to puncture through the index finger metacarpal. In other words, it is trying to come out the top of my hand! It has to stay put so the tendon can do what they need it to do and if the bent one breaks they will have to go back in and dig it out of the bone and start over! I can only type with one hand and it is tireing and slow going with pain from the other hand so bad I can barely stand it.
I want to appolize to all my fellow authors and just say that althought I haven't been able to respond to all I am reading (that is so difficult too) that I am trying to keep up with everyones work and progress! You are all so talented and it is the high point in my days/nights to read your creations! I am so blessed to have so many wonderful friends and fellow authors. Thank you all for helping make my day/nights so much more enjoyable.
I found out yesterday that they have the MRI back on my right shoulder and as soon as this hand is healed they want to go into my right shoulder to repair some extensive damage. We are hopeing it will be well enough by January. It will mean another extensive painful surgery and more pain and PT. Don't let anyone tell you that osteo and rheumatoid arthritis isn't that bad because it can reak havic on your body through time. Please keep me in your prayers. I am afraid that the book I have coming out the end of December might be late. That is very disappointing!
Love you all and appreciate your support and prayers. God bless and keep you all!
