(The following article concerning the release of "A Pastor's Heart" by Eddie Thompson appeared in the Jena Times.)

The latest release by Publish America, LLLP, is a book written by a Jena native. A Pastorís Heart, by Eddie Thompson, is a journal-style devotional that attempts to encourage pastors and laity alike to deepen their understanding of the call to ministry. Many books are designed to teach normal, ordinary people how to become extraordinary pastors. A Pastorís Heart emphasizes the importance of extraordinary pastors to remain ordinary men and women.

This collection of thoughts and observations teaches us to love our leaders as much when they disappoint us with their humanity as we do when they dazzle us with their spirituality. If we expect our ministers to be more than human, we inevitably fall into the error of considering them less than human as well. Scripture references are given with each devotional entry to make A Pastorís Heart informative as well. "The message of A Pastorís Heart is clearly appropriate for everyone," says Marcyle Taliaferro, the Jonesville author of Fountains of the Spirits, which was also published by Publish America, in a review of Thompsonís book. "Pastor Eddie Thompson reveals his heart to remind us that our Creator has given special and unique qualities to each of usóqualities granted for a specific purpose in His master plan."

A Pastorís Heart can be purchased at any online bookstore like Amazon or Barnes and Nobles. The book is currently being offered at an introductory price of $16.95 through Publish America. To purchase this book, go to www.publishamerica.com and type in "Eddie Thompson" or the book title, "A Pastorís Heart," or the ISBN number: 1413703208. You can contact Pastor Thompson directly by telephone at 318-992-7496 or through his website at www.alabasterpublishing.com. Or you can pick up a copy of the book at Maw & Pawís Restaurant or at Caboose Cafe and Gift Shop in Jena.
