Barnes & Noble Booksellers in the Town Square Mall at Vestal New York, held a Writer's Fest recently. The fourteen regional authors invited consisted of self-published and print-on-demand authors (Pod) the new technology that produces a book at the push of a button.
This was a first of its kind in Central New York, and the event was thought to have gone well, with a great turn-out of supporters made up of area neighbors, friends and relatives. All involved hoped for success thereby encouraging other area bookstores to try this type of book signing and marketing event.
Local writer Al Squitieri made the two hour trip. Author of the popular "Funny Side Up" an anthology of his newspaper and magazine articles, and "Broken Glass And All" a story of his victory over an incurable autoimmune disease, said it was worth the ride to meet people, answer questions and offer hope provided by his book, which is the reason it was written.
"What is a two hour drive..," he offered, " when just a few years ago I couldn''t get out of bed!"
Books are available from Online booksellers, or from the author . P.O.Box 605, Fulton,N.Y. 13069
Both books for $29.95 Postage Paid,
