Girls to the Rescue #7 is an anthology of short stories featuring girls as the heroines. The cover story, "On the Way to Broken Bow," about a handicapped girl who flies an airplane, is by Marianne Dyson.

"On the Way to Broken Bow" is based on a conglomeration of true stories. The author has spent many hours flying in small planes (she and her pilot husband own one), and knows several physically handicapped pilots. AngelFlight is a real organization that offers free flights to patients, and they once flew a young girl who had been burned after washing her hair with gasoline. What does this have to do with the story? Read it and see!
