Sage Sweetwater's Authors Den Poetry & The Colorado Film Commission
Sage Sweetwater's Authors Den Poetry of The Sundance Wives and Sage Sweetwater using marketing strategy could pay off for the Colorado Film Commission, the Office of Film Television & Media who gives film incentive tax breaks to film companies who film in the State of Colorado.
Effective July 1, 2010 the Colorado incentive program has been revamped to make it easier to qualify for the program. We have also expanded the types of qualifying programs to include television commercials.
Sage wrote a screenplay The Sundance Wives: The Gates of Doogun Hill from poetry she posted on Authors Den. The screenplay is currently in Development with Triboro Pictures.
The Colorado Film Incentive program offers producers a 10% cash rebate for production costs taking place in the State of Colorado. The incentive program covers feature films (both independent and studio), television pilots, television series (broadcast and cable), television commercials, music videos, industrials, documentaries and video game design and creation.
The mission of the Colorado Film Commission is to promote Colorado as a location for making feature films, television shows, television commercials, still photography, music videos, and emerging mass media projects. We assist production companies with scouting and permits, serve as a general liaison for both production companies and Colorado communities. The office also manages the production incentive program, conducts educational seminars, and works to create new business opportunities that will create jobs and economic growth for the state.
Over 54,000 jobs and $20 billion in revenue is created by businesses in Colorado’s film, television and media industries. It plays an important economic impact of these industries.
To qualify for the program a film production company must have qualified in-state spending of at least $100,000 on the project while an out-of-state production company must have at least $250,000 in qualifing expenses. In addition to the qualifying expenses, at least 25% of the workforce on every project must be Colorado residents in order for the project to meet state incentive guidelines
