Self published writer Dwayne Murray Sr., is the author of the new suspense novel The Mouse That Roared (250 pp, $13.95), a story about a young woman, Sandra Lyte, who defies her religious parents wishes and enters a beauty contest, her parents viewed as sinful, lustful and degrading to women. After being thrown out of her home in Virginia, Sandra travels to New York City unaware and naïve about life in the city. Sandra’s life is quickly engulfed in abuse, drugs, power and the unthinkable, murder.
The Mouse That Roared is a gut-wrenching fast paced thriller filled with action and suspense. The writer captures the circumstances and bad fortunes of living in the city, and how these situations exalts the most innocent, intellectual, mild-mannered woman’s true strength when she is forced into a corner.
