A thief is on the loose attacking the bodies of middle-aged women, according to a new video on You Tube. The video, created by baby boomer author Beverly Mahone, pokes fun at weight gain as it relates to aging, a slower metabolism and menopause.
Mahone, who is the author of Whatever! A Baby Boomer’s Journey Into Middle Age, says “Middle-age spread is one issue I never thought I’d have to deal with, but honey, let me tell you, it’s no joke! My middle aged years have resulted in some spreading, sagging and cellulite---while my breasts, belly and lap are getting better acquainted.” The video, according to Mahone, may be extreme in the way it’s presented but it’s also a reminder that if we don’t take care of our bodies as we age, we can let things get out of control.
Fellow baby boomer Kim Sims, who was one of the first to review the video, said, “I can empathize with you…several years ago someone stole my body too!” Eileen Williams concurs with Sims' comment: “Thanks for the warning but it came a bit late for me. Someone stole my body a long time ago. So, I'll warn my friends that the body snatchers are out and about and grabbing our jiggly parts right and left!”
