A book that took 15 years to finish has become a Best Seller in less than a month after its release.
Reluctant Witness: Robert Taylor, Hollywood, & Communism, by Linda J. Alexander, is the exhaustive biography of Golden Era movie star, Robert Taylor. He was called “The Man with the Perfect Profile,” and some considered him the most beautiful man to ever grace the movie world. But there was also another side to Taylor, which Alexander researched long and hard for accuracy. She says the book finally sets the record straight on Taylor’s involvement in the 1940s hysteria over communism in Hollywood.
“I love old movies, old Hollywood, and I’ve long been fascinated by the life of Golden Era movie star, Robert Taylor,” says Alexander. “Digging up long-ago personalities is my specialty and movie royalty from the days of classic Hollywood have always fascinated me.”
Alexander says despite the fact that it took years of interviews, research and writing, she is glad to finally see it come to fruition.” Reluctant Witness has received kudos from the late actor’s son, Terry Taylor. He praised Alexander’s work, saying there was “no better author to write it.” The author will host a book signing in Taylor’s hometown of Filley, Nebraska on June 7, 2008.
In addition to her latest release, Alexander is also the author of four other books. This is her first book released by Tease Publishing, LLC.
