How to re-do, re-new, re-create and re-invent are just a few of the tips offered in the new book, How to Get on the News Without Committing Murder. Veteran journalist and baby boomer Beverly Mahone is the author.
Mahone says, “This book is for those of us who have transitioned or are transitioning from the corporate world into doing our own thing as an entrepreneur or small business owner.” How to Get on the News Without Committing Murder offers eight killer tips on how to present a positive social media image at midlife so you can become more attractive to the newsmakers.
As someone who spent more than 30 years in the mainstream media, Mahone says when she left to start her own media consulting business, she quickly discovered how much the rules change when you’re the one calling the shots. “I found myself having to start all over again and make new in-roads so people would get to know me in a different capacity. It’s not always easy.”
What this book does, according to Mahone, is offer valuable tips and resources on how to get more exposure. “You have to learn how to create a buzz about who you are and what you do and my book provides that information.”
