Less than two weeks after being released to the public as an ebook, Don't Ask and I Won't Have to Lie, jumped to the number 2 ranking on Amazon in the Aging category.
The ebook, according to author Beverly Mahone, explores the lies women tell--the subjects they lie about, why they do it and the role aging plays in the process. Beverly describes the book as a "straight-forward, truth-telling therapy session" that includes a lie she told that nearly cost her life.
The North Carolina author says she was pleasantly surprised by the ebook's successful debut. "I started out by offering it for free as a part of the free kindle promotion offered on Amazon and then asked my friends to download a copy. They told their friends and so on."
Beverly credits social media networking sites like Facebook and Twitter for her book's successful run. "So far I've received several 5-star reviews and even though the book is no longer available for free, I am finding that people are still interested and now buying it. Every woman who reads my book will identify with it for sure."
The digital version of Don't Ask and I Won't Have to Lie was officially released to the public on Amazon on April 14, 2012.
