Obscure, elegant, sensual, precious and exposed for the world to see, Mr. Davis has
accurately and poignantly expressed his perception of the black woman. She is beautiful.
She is love. Love in all of its pain, betrayal, glory and truth. I have not yet read any
work to date besides the great black authors of poetry who have so eloquently depicted
the inner turmoil, unconditional love and personal plight of the black woman. This was
especially surprising since this is written by a man. For those of you out there who don’t
believe it can be done, or have not yet had the chance to experience poetry which
validates the beauty and completeness of the black woman, please, get this book!
