Jerry Engler's first two books of fiction short stories demonstrate "why he is considered a strong voice of small-town America," writes Kansas State Archivist Don Pady at Spencer Library of the University of Kansas.
Pady said Engler's stories illustrate that "what is easiest to love about humanity is the uniqueness of each individual."
In Engler's books, Just Folks: Earthy Tales of the Prairie Heartland, and A Heartland Voice: Just Folks Two, you will discover colorful characters and mythical farm communities where everyone knows everyone else well enough to know their names, "and love each other despite that."
Engler's third book, Highly Embellished Truth & Some Poetry: Just Folks Three, was just released in December, 2008.
