Update on Kickstarter Project:
Researched pricing for Screen Printed T-Shirts for promotional use. Very excited about it..but significant cost. As of 5/5/2012 --5 pledges. $165.00 out of a $12K goal. If you would like to see more about my project please click on the link and consider pledging. I appreciate your consideration.
Explanation of my Kickstarter Project. I thought that this might help if people have questions about just what it is that I'm trying to do with Kickstarter.
Kickstarter is a fundraising platform on the Internet. If you pledge to a project, you don't actually get charged to your credit card UNTIL the Funding is COMPLETE..so for someone like me that is trying to raise $12K If I raise $11, 999 I don't get the funding because I did not meet my goal.
So how did I come up with the goal that I set for my project. I want to publish my NEXT 2 Books.. The Christmas Story- The House of Top Hat-remembers- A Journey Through Christmas....and the second book is called "Dreamship Ruxtengallo" These are both full color picture books. "Top Hat" is 26 pages long and "Dreamship" around 30--(still being written at this time).
Publishing is an expensive endeavor. I've managed to find a really great publisher to partner with for these projects. The publishing world has changed dramatically over the last few years. Due to the economy a lot of publishers are not willing to take on an "unknown" Author. Unfortunately for me- I'm not a worldwide, international author with millions of fans waiting to buy my books---YET.... Many publishers require what is now called "Author Subsidy" where the author contributes financially but the Author has little say with how the book is put together and over all might not have much to say about the book, pricing, distribution, etc and there are a lot of factors that you may or may not know about. In addition to the publishing costs, copyright costs, ISBN fees and publishing the book funding would also cover a run of books that can regenerate the funding. I've done a lot with my first 2 books. I've had press releases published, been on the local news and radio and did signings and readings at schools. I'm also planning to build another box...(see my aw page for "Miratambo Moonsong 3D"
Look, truth be told, I really want to do this. I CAN DO THIS! I just need the faith and the pledges of the great people I know to help me see this through. There are so many things that can be generated from these projects and I really want to see this through. Sorry it's a long winded explanation..that's me...I'm a long winded person.
