| I've been celebrating some of the successes of fellow Central Victorian writers a lot this week. Short story writer, poet and novelist Mary Pomfret has been awarded a much deserved postgraduate scholarship at La Trobe University to study creative writing; other Bendigo writers were published in the 'Landlines' Regional Victorian poetry anthology. Today I also learnt that Jess Anastasi (one of this region's most talented Historical Romance writers) has snared an e-book and print deal for at least four books with Noble Romance Publishing (US). Both Jess & Mary have worked very hard for many years to achieve the successes detailed above - I congratulate them both! |

If you're interested in Historical Romance you can access Jess Anastasi's web site and blogspot - which also contain information about her books - via the following link: Jess Anastasi. Note: Her books are available via major online bookstores such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
See also: former Central Victorian horror/speculative fiction writer Mark Smith-Briggs' blog re: Australian horror writing. Besides being a fiction writer Mark is also a fine filmaker, editor and journalist. Along with Cameron Oliver he co-wrote and produced the award winning short film 'Snap' which was recently shown at major international film festivals.
