Review of Nneka The Hunchback in Thisday on Sunday, June 24 2007 points out different dimension to the book

The story book is a laudable work that teaches virtues and norms by telling a simple story on loyalty and why obedience is far better than sacrifice.

The first in a series of works planned to give a modern makeover to the way African stories are told, the full colour story book contains a 12-minute read along audio CD, full illustrations and suggestives drawings on each page. These recreate the oral tradition of African nights to suit a modern audience, bring the book alive and reinforce the story telling format.
