The inaugural meeting of the Liver Foundation of Western Australia was held at Caves House, Yallingup on April 30 and May 1, 2010. It brought together over 65 eminent gastroentterologists, hepatologists, radiologists, histopathologists, social workers, psychiatrists, GP's, nurses and allied health workers.
The problem of alcohol and substance abuse, alarming rate of increase in hepatitis B and C epidemic in Australia and indeed the world over, incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma, liver transplantation and obesity affecting the liver are topics of widespread interest to the global community.
