CBC Radio, The Book Club, is featuring Val Wake as one of its featured readers.
Canadian readers are being invited to take on a change of pace with the introduction of Val Wake's name as a featured reader on the CBC Radio The Book Club website.

This popular radio program heard from sea to sea in Canada invites listeners to submit their names as featured readers. They are invited to submit ideas about their favourite books and current reading to help stimulate the reading habit across the country.

Val Wake a former CBC News staffer who now lives in Port Macquarie Australia decided to accept the producer's invitation.

Val sent in his information and along with providing some local colour about his home town and its claims to literary fame he also got in a few plugs for his books White Bird Black Bird and No Ribbons or Medals.

" I think it is extremely generous of the show's producers to give me time and national exposure to express my views. I don't know how many people in Canada will be interested in Port Macquarie but they may be stimulated to find out more," said Val Wake speaking from his canal side home in Port Macquarie.

Val's book White Bird Black Bird has recently gone on sale at the Yellowknife Book Cellar in Yellowknife NWT. He is negotiating with other independent book sellers to place more books across the country.
