As of June 5, 2003, I had managed to pen a story for my website -- and this was also featured on
Gothic Classifieds and reinstated my newsletter called
The Cryptic Psyche. This would be where I will let members of AuthorsDen know of various projects on AuthorsDen and beyond there. The new story will be up in
the archive of my website,
Writings From The Grave. Ron [Dondiego] was the first writer from AuthorsDen to really get a good read of this one before I posted it to gothic-classifieds and a few other places but it is on Writings From The Grave itself.
The new story itself will have the feel of H.P. Lovecraft's
Dagon and
Shadow Over Innsmonth. It is another Cthulhu Mythos tale as it is set in the Midwest. Where it being the home region of both August Deleth and Robert Bloch. This new story is titled
Shadow of the Gathering. As AuthorsDen will be seeing the stories,
De Pointe Noire and
Places of the Cold, which are sequels of
Forlorn -- A Vinette (
De Pointe Noire and
Library of Bones. Those who would read Robert Bloch, H.P. Lovecraft and Derleth would take a liking to this story already and it will bring Dagon into the 1990s. The story itself is one of the most haunting ones I have written in a long while -- it is up there with
Darkness From The Skies and
Library of Bones. I invite the darker of the horror writers from AuthorsDen to write a story off
Library of Bones and the Cthulhu Mythos. It is this kind of horror that gets horror writers writing to begin with -- the kind of stories that help invoke imaginations of boy scouts when they go on their outings for days at a time.
It kind of makes one wonder if Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft were still alive, would they take advantage of the internet as a medium of posting up their work. As where many out there want to keep their idenity away from the public, the rules of the internet are a little different for the writer. In that being said -- there is so much one can say and doing a thing on livejournal via my community called
Nickolaus A. Pacione Presents,,, and this would be where I take the time to introduce various writers from AuthorsDen to possible readers. I had introduced Ron Dondiego and Diane Hundertmark to them on more than one occasion -- even a few members of the HWA, this time around I introduced Hasan Abood and a few others on there.
