| "What about the Children" is a play that I wrote and selected a cast for. The cast and I expects to perform the play in the month of October, 2010. "What about the Children is about a teenaged girl who sneaks out to a house party, against her mother's better judgment. After a boy she thought she can trust takes advantage of her, she realizes her life can become a total disaster. |
Mark: Spiked punch. Punch, with a little liquor in it.
Keisha: I don’t drink alcohol.
Mark: You don’t?
Keisha: No I don’t, but I see you do. (maintaining her cool)
Mark: I’m sorry. Do you smoke?
Keisha: No.
Mark: You don’t drink, you don’t smoke. That sounds boring to me.
Keisha: Well, I just never did these things before. My mama would kill me if I did.
Mark: There’s nothing wrong with it. Everybody does it. Watch this.
Keisha: I’m scared.
Mark: Scared, you don’t trust me?
Keisha: Yeah, but I don’t think I should. My mama would
(Mark takes a shot and suck a lime after it) try it.(Mark puts his finger on her lips)
Mark: Your mama is not here. Just have fun!
Keisha: Okay, okay.
Mark: Here.
(hands her a shot/lime) Now, when I count to 3, just swallow fast and suck on the lime. 1,2,3. (Keisha does it then smirks her face)
Now was that hard?
Keisha: No, not too bad.
Mark: I told you it’s not so bad, let’s dance.
(dancing tipsy)
