Michael L. Thal is awarded Honorable Mention for his work by Writer''s Digest.

For his article, "When the Music Stops: A Family's Fight with Deafness," Michael was awarded Honorable Mention in the Feature Article category of the 72nd Annual Writer's Digest Writing Competition. Not bad for a contest that attracted over 18,000 entries.

Writer's Digest editor, Kristin Godsey says, "Your success in the face of such formidable competition speaks highly of your writing talent, and should be a source of great pride as you continue in your writing career."
